I read pretty much any chance I get. I mostly read YA books but some adult ones as well. To me all books are precious gems and are meant to be treasured.

Everneath
Series: Everneath #1
by Brodi Ashton
Release Date: Jan. 24th, 2012

Last spring, Nikki Beckett vanished, sucked into an underworld known as the Everneath, where immortals Feed on the emotions of despairing humans. Now she's returned- to her old life, her family, her friends- before being banished back to the underworld... this time forever.

She has six months before the Everneath comes to claim her, six months for good-byes she can't find the words for, six months to find redemption, if it exists.

Nikki longs to spend these months reconnecting with her boyfriend, Jack, the one person she loves more than anything. But there's a problem: Cole, the smoldering immortal who first enticed her to the Everneath, has followed Nikki to the mortal world. And he'll do whatever it takes to bring her back- this time as his queen.

As Nikki's time grows short and her relationships begin slipping from her grasp, she's forced to make the hardest decision of her life: find a way to cheat fate and remain on the Surface with Jack or return to the Everneath and become Cole's... (Goodreads Description)

My Thoughts:

First off I am in love with this cover. The colors work great together, and the picture defiantly goes with the description of the book. Only drawback is I would like to see the girls face. On that note, I can't wait to read this book. The story is unique, and it sounds like an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. I want to see what fate she decides and who she chooses. Also how she got into her situation in the first place.

Halflings
Series: Halflings #1
by Heather Burch
Release Date: Feb. 1st, 2012

After being inexplicably targeted by an evil intent on harming her at any cost, seventeen-year-old Nikki finds herself under the watchful guardianship of three mysterious young men who call themselves halflings. Sworn to defend her, misfits Mace, Raven, and Vine battle to keep Nikki safe while hiding their deepest secret—and the wings that come with.

A growing attraction between Nikki and two of her protectors presents a whole other danger. While she risks a broken heart, Mace and Raven could lose everything, including their souls. As the mysteries behind the boys’ powers, as well as her role in a scientist’s dark plan, unfold, Nikki is faced with choices that will affect the future of an entire race of heavenly beings, as well as the precarious equilibrium of the earthly world. (Goodreads Description)

My Thoughts:

I love books about angels; some of my favorite are the Fallen series, and the Hush, Hush series. This one sounds different, but very good. I want to know more about why these men are protecting Nikki and what she has to do with their secret. Also I do love me some love triangles. I know a lot of people don't, but I feel that a little competition spices things up a bit. Can't wait to see what’s in store for the characters in this book.
